In 2020, I had written three research articles about my artworks. This “STAND BY/ME” article was a “special” one – it was submitted to three HCI conferences and was rejected by all with the similar reason – “it is interesting, but out of scope for the current conference”. STAND BY/ME is my first tryout of framing audiences as purely bystanders and letting the “machine” master the interaction. Although this work may not be able to offer the human-computer interaction, the interaction is designed to create an immersive experience set up as interplay between humans, machine and artificial entitles in a cognitively overwhelming way. I hope you would like this artwork and this piece of text.
